Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President or the United States. 1861–1865. It is widely acknowledged that Lincoln’s leadership through Americans greatest internal upheaval to date was colossal achievement. He led American through the American civil war. In the process he abolished slavery and set America on a course for true nationhood with the belief in equal rights, liberty and democracy.
